Are Realtors Worth Their Commission?
This is a fantastic article written by Don Kottick about the realities of using a realtor over NOT using one. In this age of Doing-It-Yourself, we assume selling our own house is easy, or at least, "worth a shot". I've seen first hand what happens when people sell their own homes, and it's not a pretty picture. You wouldn't get your relative, who happens to be a family doctor, to do a home surgery for your gallbladder, or some such ridiculous notion.....same goes for trying to navigate the world of selling your own home! It's a disaster doing it yourself and usually, should you even be successful enough to attract a qualified solid offer that doesn't fall apart and actually closes, you will get a lower price on your house doing this yourself.
